FANCY a wizard time this Saturday? Then head to the Talbot Athletic Ground, where Aberavon RFC will launch a new play zone in a bid to tempt families back to the home of the mighty Wizards.

Saturday will see that final game of the season, with Aberavon playing Bridgend at home. But there’ll be more of offer than rugby. The home side will use the game to launch a new community partnership with Neath Port Talbot Play Works – the introduction of free play sessions inside the ground on match days.

Children will be able to play parachute games, ball games, do arts and crafts and face painting and a host of other activities with qualified play workers while mums and dads watch the match.

“We are delighted to be forming the partnership with NPT Play Works and feel that this will bring a new element to Aberavon fixtures,” said the club’s marketing manager Gareth Howells.

“The new partnership will add a new element to watching Aberavon fixtures at the ground at each home game for the 2013-14 seasons and enable us to deliver a fun element to rugby for children at the ground,” he added.

“We hope that this will help us grow our younger fan base whilst encouraging more families to attend our fixtures knowing that their children will be in safe hands and having fun at our games.”

As well as offering free play, entry to Aberavon games is also free to under-16s, while adults can take advantage of a one-off £5 ticket price for the Bridgend game.

The club is also offering free season tickets for children for next season, which entitle a parent entry to the game for just £5.
