Having been absent for two years, VW festival Volskfest enjoyed rave reviews following a successful weekend of entertainment on its return to Margam Park on what was its 16th anniversary.
Volksfest returned to Margam following a two-year stint in Carmarthen due to maintenance work that meant the venue couldn’t be used.
Thousands of festival goers filled the country park between 31 July and 2 August to attend the popular event. Tickets for the overnight camping were also sold out prior to the event. Event organiser, Vicky Jones, said: “We went back to Margam with a big bang. Camping tickets sold out, which was a first, and I have never seen so many cars in the main car park on Sunday.”
The success of the event was credited to the work of volunteers, whom Vicky thanked through a post on the event’s Facebook page. She said: “Special thanks go to all those who volunteered at the show. We really couldn’t do it without you guys. These people give up their time to spend many hours running, fetching, directing, cleaning, picking, walking, shouting or dealing with difficult people.”
Attendees of the VW festival also showed their appreciation for the weekend and there were many positive reviews on the event’s Facebook page.
