PORT Talbot Town have announced a special promotion for Friday night’s visit of arch-rivals Neath – free entry for under-16s.
The club hope that offering free entry to all under-16s will help to attract a bumper derby crowd for the Welsh Premier League match at the Gen-Quip Stadium, where kick-off is at 7.30pm (September 30).
Town have been buoyed by the fans’ continued support so far this season, and hope Friday’s offer will encourage youngsters in the town to stay behind the side.
“The support this season has been tremendous. We would love for it to continue to grow and to attract new fans,” said club chairman Andrew Edwards.
“The supporters have helped to create a great atmosphere in the Gen-Quip Stadium, which has been a real boost to the players.
“There will be some top players on show on Friday, and the derby game with Neath is always a great contest.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for youngsters in the area to enjoy a great night’s football completely free.”
In the last Friday night fixture at the Gen-Quip Stadium, the Blues recorded a memorable 2-1 victory over The New Saints, and they remain unbeaten at home.
Neath are also in good form, with former Swan Lee Trundle shining in their 4-0 win over Bala Town on Sunday.
The match pits Port Talbot captain Paul Couchlin and former striker Luke Bowen against their former clubs for the first time since their summer transfers.
