Henry had given more than 50 years of service to Taibach Rugby Club as player, coach and club captain as well as club president.

An extract from the club’s match-day program stated:

“Henry was involved in the club from the beginning, he did it all at our club. Legend has it he played until he was 50 years old – well it felt like it. He played for and captained the first and second teams, coached the youth and seniors, was a linesman and tormentor of referees, served on the committee and as President of the club and was even a grounds man.

“In short, Henry was the man to have around at Taibach Rugby Club, he was a legend and a gentleman – he is and always will be sorely missed.”
