In a top of the table clash, it was third placed Seven Sisters who won the spoils, against second placed Taibach, at the “Plough”. The visitors took the lead with a Mike Smith penalty, and they remained in control for the remainder of the first half, crossing for three tries, courtesy of Anthony Llewellyn, Kyle Davies, with the third from Number eight Alan Jones, converted by Mike Smith for a 0-20 lead at halftime.
From the second half kick off, Taibach finally responded and encamped themselves on the Seven try line for the first fifteen minutes, but a vital score eluded them. Play continued in the visitors half, and Taibach finally got on the score sheet when Mike McSweeney kicked across field, with wing Richard Hopkins jumping to beat two defenders and catch the ball and touchdown to score the try. Mike Smith kicked his second penalty of the game, then came the try of the game when number eight Alan Jones broke on halfway and beat several defenders, before running in to score under the posts, Mike Smith converting. With play well into injury time, Seven scored a fifth try when wing Anthony Llewellyn crossed for his second try, and an emphatic 5-35 win.
