Premier League class shone through as Port Talbot Town’s pre-season campaign saw them go down 3-1 to Swansea City.

The GenQuip Stadium hosts struck in the 51st minute but by that time they were already two down.

The Swans wrapped things up with half an hour left but Mark Jones’ team were far from embarrassed.

Scot Craig Beattie beat keeper Kristian Rogers for an 11th minute opener, a Ferrie Bodde pass deceiving the home defence for the striker to control and finish.

On 36 minutes, Spanish full-back Angel Rangel finished tidily to double the advantage.

Rose pushed hard to force the Town reply shortly after the break but the good work was undone when Kurtis March restored the two-goal cushion.

Town Rogers, DeVulgt, Edwards, Bloom, Keddle, John, Phillips, Thompson, Evans, Blain, Rose.
Swans Moreira, Rangel, Pike, Tate, Taylor, Bodde, Allen, Lucas, Thomas, Beattie, Cotterell.
