SPORTS students at Neath Port Talbot College have presented a cheque for £110 to Shane Williams’s chosen charity, Tŷ Hafan.
Former Wales ace Williams was guest of honour at the college’s sports presentation evening this year, when students helped to raise money for the charity as well as receiving awards for their outstanding performances in sport this year.
All money raised from the event will go towards helping Tŷ Hafan improve the quality of life for young children with life-limiting conditions in Wales.
Tŷ Hafan is a family hospice which provides children with specialist palliative care, and provides essential care and support to their families.
In attendance was Frank Ady who received the cheque on behalf of Tŷ Hafan, and students Chelsea Lewis and Richard Jones.
Chelsea was named Sportswoman of the Year in recognition of her achievements in netball. She has been the youngest-ever player in the Wales Squad, and won player of the tournament in the recent European Netball Championships.
Richard is a talented boxer and an exemplary student. He has been awarded his Wales vest, and won an international gold medal in a fight that was televised on Hatton TV and streamed live over the internet.
