YOUNG singers and musicians from St Joseph’s Catholic Comprehensive School in Aberavon have made a special visit to Neath Port Talbot Hospital to take part in the Christmas carol concert.

Under the watchful eye of Peter Govier, the school’s head of music, they led the choral carol singing and gave a number of Christmas songs.
“It was lovely to be able to be here,” said Grace Barnes, a year 13 sixth form student from St Joseph’s.
The atrium was filled with patients, visitors and hospital staff, with many watching from the first floor balcony.
The carol service, led by the hospital’s chaplaincy service, was broadcast live on Phoenix Radio, the hospital radio station.
Gareth Bailey, head of programmes, said: “It was great to hear the singing of youth.
“The carol service is at the heart of our Christmas broadcasting, and it is very important for the hospital.
“It brings all ages together, and it was great to see the children contributing so well.”
