Local News Port Talbot is looking for journalists to volunteer for the Easter weekend to help cover The Passion.
The site plans to provide rolling news coverage of all the action from the weekend.
“We’re offering a community news service for Port Talbot, and The Passion is such an important event for the town that we want to pull out all the stops and make sure we do it justice,” said one of LNPT’s directors, Rachel Howells.
“We have had a soft launch over the last few months which has meant we’ve been slowly uploading articles on our site, building our readership. The site is run by volunteer journalists at the moment, but we are hoping to take it to the next stage now, and really fill the site with news stories about Port Talbot.”
LNPT is looking for experienced journalists, photographers and documentary makers, as well as media students or trainees who are keen to get some work experience.
“A key element of our ethos is that we want to pass on our skills and experience to young journalists and members of the community,” said Ms Howells. “We really hope that people will take advantage of the unique opportunity this will offer.”
