Port Talbot suffered their first washout of the season after torrential rain prevented any play in their match against Newport at The New Mansel on Saturday.
Such was the downpour in the preceding days and overnight that the match was called off as early as 10:00 on Saturday morning with big puddles covering several parts of the field.
There was added disappointment for Port Talbot as for the first time this season they had Glamorgan captain Mark Wallace available as well as a fully fit Alex Jones. There was some consolation for both sides as the awful weather meant all 1st XI and 2nd XI fixtures were abandoned without any play.
Port Talbot stay in fourth place, 13 points behind leaders Sully while Newport remain in sixth. The Pirates will hope for better weather next weekend when defending champions Cardiff visit The New Mansel with Port Talbot looking to preserve their unbeaten home record this season.
