Port Talbot’s own West End singing star Michael Conway will be making a guest appearance at a musical extravaganza in the town from tomorrow (Thursday, June 26).

Michael, who shot to fame in The Jersey Boys, is the guest of Port Talbot Amateur Operatic Society.

The actor and singer grew up watching his cousin Michael Sheen on the stage and decided he wanted to follow in his footsteps.

“I watched him and my other cousin Caroline (Sheen) on stage as a kid. That’s what started it,” he said.

“I went to Gorseinon College and then went to London to Arts Ed to do a degree in musical theatre. And here I am!”

The West End to Broadway Musical Extravaganza is on Thursday and Friday June 26-27 at 7pm at The Centre, Baglan Community Church.

Tickets are £7.50 unreserved and are obtainable from 01639 896228.
