Police plea over alleged train attack on woman

BRITISH Transport Police are appealing for information following an incident in which a 27–year-old woman was allegedly assaulted on board a train travelling between Cardiff and Swansea last night (Saturday, November 24).

On arrival at Swansea station, around 9.45pm, the woman reported having been punched several times in the face by a man.
She was taken by ambulance to Morrison Hospital, and released after treatment for serious facial injuries.
Officers are carrying out extensive inquiries, and are appealing for members of the public who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
A BTP spokesman said: “The train, the 19.43 service from Cardiff to Swansea, would have been busy with others who may have attended the Wales v New Zealand rugby international.
“Anyone who was on the train and witnessed the alleged assault is urged to contact BTP as a matter of urgency.”
