Off-road concerns eased

Police officers and fire personnel across Port Talbot are claiming success for a new anti-nuisance unit.

 They say that complaints about illegal off-road motorbiking have fallen since a joint police and fire service team was launched in the county earlier this year.

The Safer Neath Port Talbot Partnership Rural and Forestry Team (Raft) was formed to tackle off-road biking, arson and other forms of countryside crime.
Since April the numbers of complaints from members of the public about off-road motorbike nuisance have fallen steadily.

Raft’s Sergeant Geraint Jenkins said: “Our operations will continue to target hotspot areas.”
