Mini marvels get a big boost from Tata

A FAMILY-RUN football club in Margam is a step nearer its goal of providing top quality soccer training for more kids, thanks to a donation from Tata Steel.

Team coaches Nigel Thomas, Lee McQuaide and Leyton Leaity with players from all sections of the club.

Margam Minis will use the gift to buy new equipment for the teams, and to help towards the cost of hiring Afan College’s Astroturf facilities to ensure the boys can train over the winter.
Lee McQuaide, a coach at the club, said: “The donation is greatly appreciated by everyone at the club. This money will help with the purchase of new training equipment that is much needed to help the teams progress with their football.”

Nia Singleton, community liaison at Tata Steel , added: “We make a number of donations each year to local charities, but we always try to support fitness and activity, and are encouraged to see boys as young as six enjoy sports and getting involved in a team sport.”
