Port Talbot Magnet has welcomed a new business development manager to the team and has confirmed it will be publishing the next edition of the newspaper in July.
Gareth Howells comes to the Magnet having spent two and a half years as Commercial and Marketing Manager for the Aberavon Wizards.
Rachel Howells, Magnet editor, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Gareth to the team, as he has a great track record working with the local community and a wide range of businesses, particularly from his previous role as commercial and marketing manager with Aberavon Wizards.”
Gareth takes over from Anita Morgan, who, after three years with the Magnet, has decided to retire so she can spend more time with her grandchildren and her new great-granddaughter, Marcie.
Rachel added: “We’d like to thank Anita for all her hard work over the last few years and for her help in getting us into print and keeping us sustainable. She continues to be a valued member of the Magnet family, and we wish her all the best for the future.”
Gareth joins Magnet at a time which coincides with the launch of a new website design, responsive to mobiles and tablets, due to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
“In common with many other businesses in Port Talbot, 2016 has been a bit tough for us, and we have been working hard to not only stay in business, but to make sure the Magnet improves for the future. We’re really excited that our website is almost ready to unveil, and of course we have not given up on our monthly newspaper. Our next edition is currently in the planning stage and scheduled for early July.”
