British Lions tourist Richard Hibbard was guest of honour at Taibach RFC‘s annual presentations.
The Ospreys hooker is the ninth Taibach player to have starred for Wales and is now bidding to become a Lions hero Down Under.
Taibach’s big event was held at the clubhouse and saw Aaron Jones win three awards – top try scorer, top points scorer and supporters’ player of the year.
Three players achieved full membership of the club – Dan White, Matthew Saker and captain Rob Morgans.
White was named players’ player of the year and ex-youth star Jack Coombs was named most improved player of the year award.
Team manager and former wing Mike Thomas took the clubman of the year award for his tireless efforts during the season.
There were special awards to retiring coach John Mainwaring, to Karen Jones and to retiring kit man Graham Jones who is to concentrate on his duties as club president.
Player of the year was flanker Mike Kelly. He was unable to attend so Rob Morgans received the trophies on his behalf from Hibbard.
