OPENING and closing times have been announced for facilities at Neath Port Talbot Council over Christmas and new year.
The main civic buildings in Port Talbot, Neath and Pontardawe will close at 1pm on Friday (December 23), and will reopen on Monday, January, January 2. Emergency contact numbers are: Social Services 01639 895455; Highways and Environmental 01639 686868; and Homelessness 01639 764690.
Libraries, museums, theatres and community centres will be operating different hours from normal over the holiday period, as will leisure centres and swimming pools run by Celtic Community Leisure. Details can be found by visiting www.npt.gov.uk/christmas.
Margam Park will be closed on Christmas Day, but the parkland will be open every other day for those wishing to enjoy a walk. No facilities will be available. Hours of opening are on the council’s website.
Details of opening hours for Margam Crematorium and Cemetery can also be found on the council’s website. Neath Register Office will be open on Wednesday, December 29, between 9am and 4.30pm.
Refuse and kerbside recycling collection will operate as normal up to Friday (December 23), but will be delayed by one day from Boxing Day (Monday). Friday’s collections (December 30)will be on Saturday (31st). It will be business as usual from January 2. Recycling facilities will be available at the civic amenities sites at Briton Ferry, Rhydyfro and Cymmer which are open as usual apart from Christmas Day.
