Have a say on popular centre’s future

15 November 2011

REGENERATION group New Sandfields Aberavon is hosting a public meeting on the future of the Dalton Road Community Centre next week.

Neath Port Talbot Council has agreed in principle to lease the centre to NSA for 50 years provided it can secure funding to renovate the building, which is badly in need of updating.

The intention is to continue to house the existing users of the centre, including Mencap, St John Ambulance, the horticultural society and the epilepsy support group.

There are also plans to set up a community employment academy to support local people in their attempts to find work.

The stakeholders’ meeting will be held in the centre’s main hall between 4.30pm and 6pm on Wednesday, November 23.

NSA wants residents, local organisations and current users of the building to attend. Refreshments will be provided.

Email natalie.wearne@nsasr.co.uk or phone 01639 870067 to confirm attendance.
