The Green Stars put up a determined defence in the first 10 minutes, defending their line against a Glynneath onslaught – but they came away empty handed.

Green Stars then worked their way up field and were rewarded when Nathen Eagan ripped the ball from his opposite number and ran in to score under the posts. Ashley Watson converted.

Glynneath responded with a converted try of their own.

With nothing between the two teams at half time the deadlock was broken in the second half when Nathen Eagan ran in his second try which again was converted by Ashley Watson.

Glynneath again responded with a try of their own which went unconverted.

From the restart Cameron Loveys recaptured the ball and scored under the posts and Ashley Watson converted.

With 5 minutes to go Glynneath managed to break the Stars defence to score a converted try.

In the last 5 tense minutes both teams played attacking rugby but with no more scores the Green Stars won the game 21 points to 19 and the Shield was presented to The Green Stars Captain Joseph Adams. Club officials declared the victory a superb way to end the season.
