Two young students are to enjoy a week-long adventure course in the Brecon Beacons thanks to the Rotary Club of Port Talbot.

Conor Thomas, of Sandfields Comprehensive School, and Emily Rogers, of Dyffryn School, are to attend the Dolygaer Outdoor Education Centre deep in the Beacons to take part in activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, caving and abseiling.

Phil Jones, the town’s Rotary Club president, said: “We’ve sent two Port Talbot students on this course every year for 20 years.

“We again received a number of nominations this year and it’s very often difficult to select who can go. They come back from the course with lasting memories; most find what they are truly capable of.”

The scheme is funded by the Rotary Club of Port Talbot Rotary Youth Leadership Awards programme.
