Bestselling author Dr Penny Sartori will be talking about her new book on near death experiences at the NSA Afan community development centre on Monday (March 24).
The talk is part of an open day at the centre held in partnership with Swansea University’s department of adult continuing education (DACE).
It will showcase new courses starting at the centre over the next few months, including those taught by Dr Sartori on science, spirituality and health.
Penny Sartori was a nurse for 13 years in the intensive therapy unit of a major hospital. Early in her career, a connection she made with a dying patient totally changed her life. After undertaking a five year research project into near-death experiences, Penny was awarded a PhD and has written, lectured and broadcast widely, and is now one of the UK’s foremost experts on the subject of NDEs.
Penny has recently been on the Lorraine show and her sell out book, The Wisdom of Near Death Experiences, was serialised in the Daily Mail.
The open day starts at 10.30am at the centre on Bevin Avenue, Sandfields. It is part of the centre’s Community Involvement Plan to encourage new learners.
DACE is also offering a BA Degree Preparation Programme in Humanities at NSA Afan as a part-time course starting in April 2014. It is suitable for people thinking about getting back into learning and studying for a degree. It is free to eligible students and you can download the brochure here http://www.swansea.ac.uk/dace/
